LETTERS: Your suggestions for better traffic flow in Spalding

In response to The Voice article March 17, the options to “get Spalding moving”.

Is this the same computerised system they used at Pinchbeck Road/Woolram Wygate junction to make so called improvements to the flow of traffic?

If so, I would highly recommend they don’t bother, as it will surely make the situation worse as it has at Pinchbeck Road.

Also when will these so called experts realise that blocking off roads and sticking in more traffic lights just slows down, if not stops, the flow of traffic.

Mini roundabouts would be a much better idea as this keeps traffic moving, or do the powers that be think us incapable of using these properly?

I would suggest a mini roundabout at the junction of Little London bridge and Cowbit Road.

I have thought how much better traffic flow would be if there was no right turn across the carriage way into Swan Street, or better still close Swan Street.

Also I believe there should be a left turn only exit out of Lidl and the railway station car parks – much safer than the current arrangement.

I cannot see why it needs a roundabout at Winfrey Avenue and Kings Road.

The traffic hold ups are at Station Approach and Wlnsover Road.

It would be better with a roundabout there and do away with lights and if the barriers did not come down so early for a train – they are the two big hold ups.
