Better not make this a ding-dong, so this is my last on the subject.
I’m glad Mr Jackson was pleased to note that at least one person had read his earlier letter on his flag preference, but he guesses too quickly at my motives for the views I expressed.
And his guess at my political persuasion is almost certainly wrong.
I have lived for a period in a Scandinavian country, and was always impressed at the state of the public environment and services and the pride people took in them.
They did have flags too, and I’m quite happy with them as an extra, but not as a substitute.
I would like to see the same pride in environment and services prevail in our own country.
