LETTERS – Will flytippers get a fine?

An open letter to South Holland District Council:

How many years have I been complaining to SHDC to take action against the inconsiderate rogues who blight Spalding with their contempt for keeping the town tidy?

Last week, considerable amounts of unwanted detritus were put outside 5 Havelock Street, Spalding. On Tuesday, green recycling was collected. The bin men must have spent a good long time applying yellow stickers to every piece of waste – but collected nothing.

Today, I note that the yellow council stickers have been removed. The pavement is impassable, the area looks like (and is) a tip.

Black sack collection is tomorrow (August 20), and I shall be interested to see if any of this mess is removed.

Maybe I am being optimistic, but Friday will tell! Or maybe the property owner has ordered a skip for everything to be removed in one hit? Or otherwise, does that mean that all SHDC tax payers foot the bill?

If this is not the case, will SHDC issue a £1,000 fine for fly-tipping? Not holding my breath!
