LETTERS – Why would you not turn up?

How can anyone fail to be impressed by the kindness of both Vanessa (Browning) and Ollie (Ford)?
Your article about Red January explained what they had both done over the Christmas period.
As well there are alsovolunteers, who also give their time every week to provide meals and a meeting place for others who need company and support.
I was shocked to hear that, from about 60 people who put down their names to accept the generosity of a free Christmas meal on Christmas Day, cooked by Vanessa and served by the volunteers, only about 30 people actually turned up!
Ollie had used his pocket money to buy gifts for those people on the list!
How can those who failed to turn up live with themselves? Don’t they appreciate what all of those volunteers are sacrificing by giving up their Christmas day?
Well done Vanessa, Ollie and the volunteers in general.
