LETTERS – Why not add more statues?

The Sheep Market is now home to stone sheep with cattle grazing in New Road to remind people of the weekly livestock markets, drawing farmers and traders into the town.
These figures ‘will significantly add to what the town has to offer to attract people from outside the area to visit the town.’
If the anticipated bus loads of tourists actually arrive, why not take this project further and place statues of creatures, presumably having some significance in the area, in Camel Gate, Herring Lane, Mallard Close, Percheron Drive, Shire Avenue, Swan Street and Swift Court.
Life could become even more interesting if future roads were named Crocodile Close, Elephant Entry, Giraffe Gate, Kangaroo Court and Rhino Ridge although hopefully none of these will roam the town.
