LETTERS – Why can’t I speak to anyone?

In early July I made repeated calls to South Holland District Council to ask about joining up to their Garden Waste Collection.

I went through the option menus a number of times and was told to leave a voicemail.

I’ve still not had an answer back.

I wrote a letter to them instead. I’ve not had one back.

I then tried to call South Holland District Council about the £150 rebate as I don’t pay my council tax by direct debit.

I waited for ten to 15 minutes listening to the music being buried in my earhole but they didn’t pick up.

I wrote a letter to the leader of South Holland District Council Lord Gary Porter.

I got no reply from him either.

On Saturday I did get a letter from South Holland District Council about the electoral reform information.
Emblazoned on the front it said “Do not ignore this letter”.

Are they joking?

I’m a 73-year-old who doesn’t have email and can’t get through to speak to anyone at the council.
