LETTERS – Who can cause most problems?

I am convinced there is a competition around Spalding to see who can cause the biggest traffic jam, diversion, road closure, delay or any other inconvenience by installing temporary traffic lights, digging holes in the road, leaving diversion signs around, etc.

Unfortunately none of these competitive organisations will win first prize which must go to Burmor Construction for their achievement in enforcing a road closure near Pinchbeck for some nine weeks to install a new sewer.

Some of the less able competitors would not have been so imaginative, and would have closed one side of the road, work on that side with the assistance of traffic lights, before reopening that side and closing the other side to complete the job.

Congratulations, then, to Burmor Construction who will achieve the biggest inconvenience to road users’ experienced in South Holland for many years.

Let’s hope no one else tries to emulate their achievement.
