LETTERS – Where are all the ‘barn eggs’?

I am curious and concerned that some major retailers now only stock ‘free range’ eggs.
Where has the increased supply of free range emerged from?
What has happened to the previous supply of barn eggs now not being sold?
Eggs, like vegetables, are homogeneous in that they look similar and not possible to distinguish one from the other. A free range eggs looks no different to a barn. It simply costs more.
It begs the question, is there some re-branding going on?
Barn eggs are still available at Tesco and Iceland.
