LETTERS – What were they thinking?

What were my fellow semi-senile coffin dodging pensioners thinking of when they voted Ms Truss to be leader of their party?

Her numerous flaws have been obvious for a number of years.

Perhaps the reason no one mentioned her time as Lord Chancellor, for example in her election campaign?

Dominic Cummings described her as an ‘hand grenade,’ hardly an understatement!

Pick one of the many statements she has come out with in recent months (you have a sack full of choices)
‘We took our eye off the ball with energy supplies and Russia,’ who would have thought that given the relations between Russia, the Soviet Union and the West over the past 70 years that they would ever use energy for political advantage? Everybody, apparently, except those who have been in government for the last 12 years!

The state of the nation? NHS? We need an extra 40,000 doctors to match Germany’s medical care (Nuffield Trust). Ambulance Service? Crews waiting a million hours to hand over patients to A&E. Social care? Once again the can kicked down the road.

I could go on and on and we face more cuts.

Liz Truss is the latest incarnation of a leadership failure in an administration of political pygmies who have absolutely failed this country right across the board over a number of years.

As Labour sneer from the sidelines they should be reminded that Tony Blair’s changing of the dental service contacts has had the direct result of 200,000 children now not getting adequate dental care.

I’d turn to drink but there isn’t enough booze in South Lincs to make this group of charlatans of all parties palatable.
