LETTERS – What action to retain free TV licences?

An open letter to Sir John Hayes:

Dear Sir John,

I understand that with the dangerous COVID-19 outbreak that what I am about to mention may seem insignificant to yourself.

However, I’m speaking on behalf of many pensioners, not on pension credit, but not rich, who do not have a powerful voice on social media.

We would be pleased to know what action you have taken and are presently taking, to honour your election pledge ‘to fight for pensioners to retain their free TV licence’, which I believe we are due to lose on August 1, 2020.

Looking forward to your constructive reply,

Alan Russell
