LETTERS – Well done for excellent concert

I am not religious at all but am a sucker for choral music and organ classics.

Congratulations must go to All Saints’ Church, Holbeach, for the recent choir organ re-dedication event this past Saturday.

The choir organ has undergone extensive refurbishment and a concert was organised to celebrate the completion.

The soloist was the world renowned organist and teacher Daniel Moult, from the Birmingham Conservatoire. It was indeed very astute of the church to engage this top class musician.

To a full church the programme consisted recognised works from the organ repertoire such as Bach, Handel, Mozart, George Thalben-Ball and other Boys in the Band.

The programme culminated in a splendid rendition and arrangement of I Got Rhythm by George Gershwin and on a church organ for heaven’s sake!

Absolutely brilliant, this closing piece showed the full range and power of the instrument.

Congratulations again to all concerned, a splendid afternoon of music.
