LETTERS: We should definitely have them

I have just read your article re food recycling and wheelie bins.

I have written to SHDC on several occasions asking why we seem to be the only authority who do not use wheelie bins.

I live in a rural area and the black sacks are frequently attacked by crows etc leaving waste all over the garden.

I also pointed out that most authorities have provision for collecting garden waste.

We have a large garden and over the summer months we make frequent trips to the tip which is six miles away as SHDC do not provide a garden waste service (only in certain areas of which we are not included).

So the answer to your question re wheelie bins is that yes, we should definitely have them.
