Letters – Treat all road users the same way

In response to I M Sloan, Holbeach, regarding cycling on pavements and parking on pavements.

I totally agree with his comment that it is unlawful, but it is also a traffic offence. A bicycle is classed at a vehicle as is the car.

All vehicles are governed by the DVLA, and laws enforced by our police.

If you are committing a road traffic offence our local MP will not/and cannot do anything.

As stated in recent correspondence, the police can sit in a van all day on Pinchbeck Road with a speed trap, so why not get out of the van, patrol Spalding issuing penalty notices to cyclists and inconsiderate cars that park illegally?

Do not just warn them, issue with penalty notices and bring this very large problem to an end.

A speeding motorist does not get a warning he gets fined straight away, so treat all vehicles that use the roads the same.
