LETTERS – Thanks from the bottom of my heart

On Tuesday, August 27 I collapsed outside the toilet block at Spalding bus station.

Within a minute I was being helped by concerned people.

A young woman rang for an ambulance and kept up a commentary about my condition to the call handler.

A lady (whom I think was called Amy) and her daughter Vicki knelt by me to reassure me.

Vicki was wonderful in her efforts to keep me awake.

I was frightened and confused.

The first aiders from the construction company working at the bus station also offered their assistance and their banter was a tonic.

There were several other people who also offered help.

I was taken to Pilgrim Hospital A&E and cannot praise the staff highly enough for their care.

I am now at home and slowly getting back on my feet. The people who helped me – a total stranger – represent the vast majority of the people of Spalding and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
