LETTERS – Teachers are not on holiday

May I be permitted to correct a misconception as stated in the Spalding Voice in the letter by Julia Fairman.

She suggests that half the school summer break, i.e. three of the six weeks should be spent back in school to catch up with the time children have spent at home during the pandemic.

Further, the letter states that teachers have 13 weeks’ holiday each year.

I wish to point out to everyone that children may not be in school for 13 of the 52 weeks, but I can assure the general public teachers are certainly not on holiday during this time.
