Every penny dropped into a Spalding Rotary Club collection bucket helps change lives.
Although the club is small, its volunteers create a lasting impact thanks to the generosity of people across Spalding and South Holland.
Money raised through Christmas collections, market stalls, quiz nights and race nights supports a host of local projects. These include school choir and Young Chef competitions, Rotary youth leadership programmes, Believe Sport, the Rock School Bus initiative and community events for local schools.
The club also funds a free annual concert for senior citizens at the South Holland Centre, organises the Disability Games, supports inclusive events such as the Going Forward Music Festival, and helps children with special educational needs enjoy a day at Wicksteed Park.
Beyond the district, Spalding Rotary donated £1,500 to Breast Cancer Now last year, supports the Rotary Shoebox Appeal for families in Eastern Europe, and recently sent £100 emergency aid to a Rotary club in Sri Lanka following a devastating cyclone.
The club also continues to support Rotary’s worldwide drive to eradicate polio, a campaign that has reduced cases by more than 99.9 per cent and helped vaccinate billions of children.
Thanks to the generosity of local people, we’re able to support our community while helping those in need across the world.
