LETTERS – Saddened to see trees cut back

I was saddened today as I walked past the old nurses’ home on Priory Road, Spalding.

The trees and bushes for some reason have been chopped at a time when birds are nesting and feeding their young.

Other creatures such as hedgehogs will have lost their foraging and shelter areas.

Our wild birds and creatures are disappearing at an alarming rate, and someone has decided that it’s a good idea to clear this area now!

Could this have not been done a little later in the year? Our obsession with tidying up areas like this and building over places where nature can thrive is so disappointing.

Please give a little thought to what you are doing and how it will impact the wildlife that lives there.
