LETTERS – Queues causing problems

I am from here in Spalding, and today the recycling centre opened in a usual way, rather than with bookings.

The issue is, since it opened, the queues are extraordinary. It was out of the centre, down to the first roundabout. And of course any cars or lorries in that queue heading into town, or to any haulage place, cannot get past it as it is on a bend.

It was past that roundabout down to the A16 roundabout… and goodness knows where it was going from there.

Queues were also building going ‘back’ to that roundabout.

I suspect there are huge queues down towards McDonalds, and from the Sutterton route towards Spalding/Pinchbeck as well.

I spoke to Lincs Council who told me sometimes the police have to close the place. I had to turn back but go home a different way because of the nasty queues.

Haulage companies have enough issues at the moment with deliveries; this is just going to add to that problem.
