LETTERS – NHS is not safe

As we approach the local elections where every voter has the chance to express their satisfaction or otherwise with local government, let no one be in doubt that many of the current woes affecting us are a product of 13 years of Conservative-led governments.
The latest scandal is the lack of NHS dentistry. People are unable to find an NHS dentist even for emergency work. Some are having to travel up to a hundred miles to see an NHS dentist. And why is this? Because under the Conservatives NHS dentistry has been starved of adequate funds for years. The situation is allegedly better in Scotland and Wales, both of which have devolved governments not run by the Conservatives. This should tell you something.
The NHS in England is generally not safe in their hands. Their long-term plan has always been privatisation, because Conservatives hate anything in public ownership.
When you have a chance to vote, why not send a message that a change is long overdue?
Otherwise all you will be doing is voting for the status quo, which, as we know, is abysmal under the Conservatives.
