The Wash is a vast area and we should make more of it. Bird watching, walking, dog exercising, gathering samphire for personal use and simply admiring a unique area of natural scenery.
I read that a senior Conservative activist objects to South Holland Independents wishing to improve access to this space. She says the only one is at Sutton Bridge. Let me help her out.
There are at the moment at least three other places where The Wash can be visited by the public, near to RAF Holbeach, Shep Whites and Gedney Drove End.
Two have terrible car parks and access roads which could both be improved. Perhaps other footpaths could be made if we can get landowners to help out.
This area is an important local and national asset we should all be able to share, not just reclaimed farmland.
