LETTERS – Made complaints over centre

I would like to take issue with a few points that were made by the council in the article ‘Legal action over leisure facilities’.

For a number of years during the tenure of 1Life at the Castle Sports we have had cause to complain about the state of the centre, in particular the floor in the sports hall, the changing rooms and toilets were particularly bad.

We eventually arranged a meeting with the communities manager Emily Holmes at the SHDC offices who duly noted our concerns, so I fail to see how the council were not aware of the problems as this meeting took place over two years ago!

Indeed following this meeting there were a number of visits by council employees with clipboards to the centre, but to no avail.

I would dispute the council’s assertion that they were unaware of the state of the centre.

I would be interested in your readers thoughts on the subject.
