LETTERS – Letter got issues resolved

Further to my letter published in The Voice on August 18, I was contacted by phone on the same day by South Holland District Council. What a coincidence some might say!

The adviser I spoke to dealt with my request for a garden waste bin, and also the £150 energy rebate.

Her name escapes me, but she dealt with both issues competently and politely, and deserves all credit due.

SHDC take note, you can do it when you try. Although I was surprised to learn that I was speaking to someone from Manby near Louth.

This could tie in with K Davis’ interesting comments in The Voice of August 25.

I have since learned, from a reliable source, that all calls to council office in Spalding on 761161, are diverted via a call centre. This explains much!

In conclusion, I have now received my waste bin and the energy rebate.

I think the only down side is that I am filled with dread at the prospect of attempting to communicate with SHDC over any future issues.

Also, my thanks to The Voice – it gives a voice to those who believe they haven’t one.
