LETTERS – Kind vicar looked after us

On Wednesday morning some residents in Hawthorn Bank woke up to find we had a burst water main.
Anglian Water contacted to say it was a bad one and our water could be off anywhere between four and six hours or possibly longer.
The Rev Greg Bannister, vicar of St John the Baptist, was knocking on residents’ doors to ask if we had water and said that he had opened the church until 6pm for anyone to go and have drinks, and everyone was welcome.
What a kind, caring and thoughtful vicar we have, to think of all the pensioners and residents during this extreme heat.
