LETTERS – If it ain’t broke…

I have today returned from my second visit to the Spalding Recycling Centre working under the ‘new’ booking system.

My visits have resulted in my queueing up – on the road – for over 40 minutes each time. Today’s visit resulted in some incidents of cars trying to push in. It ended after a visit from the local constabulary. The queue jumper caused a lot problems in the process.

I was initially opposed to the booking system when it was first introduced. However it achieved the objective of having no cars queueing on the road. The latest booking system is counter-intuitive and causing problems. It brings the old adage to the front – “If it ain’t broke, leave it alone.”
