LETTERS – I suggested knife idea years ago

Recently on TV, the actor Idris Elba, was talking about the escalation of deaths due to knife crime.
His proposal is that knives should be made for the individual purpose required. Knives not required to have a point for purpose should be made with no sharp point.
With less pointed knives available, this would make it less easy to obtain pointed knives, thus reducing knife deaths.
In May 2019, I emailed Sir John Hayes, MP for South Holland & The Deepings with the exact same idea.
