LETTERS: Heritage Week support

The Friends of Spalding Cemetery would like to thank everybody, the public and the local media, for their support during Heritage Week.
The COVID-19 restrictions did not dampen our plans and over 100 people visited the two chapels and the grounds, and there were some very generous donations made.
We must also thank the cemetery staff and the residents of the Cemetery Lodge for their co-operation and support.
Most visitors were from the town, some established old family names were represented, and there were plenty of opportunities to learn about local history from stories told by visitors.
We now look forward to the day when we can greet visitors under normal circumstances. Friends intend to continue the work in the cemetery unless restricted, and welcome new helpers. Watch for news of our activities on Facebook “Friends of Spalding Cemetery”.
