LETTERS – Heartfelt thanks for trusting me

I’d like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to all the residents of Holbeach Town ward, who trusted me with their votes in Thursday’s district council elections.
This is a new role for me, but I pledged to do my best for our town within the scope of my responsibility, and with the help of my fellow Holbeach councillors I look forward to getting started on this.
It was a pleasure to meet and talk to so many people while canvassing and doing leaflet drops in the lead up to the election, and at the polling stations last Thursday.
Your ideas, suggestions and positive feedback gave me a better understanding of your expectations of your local councillor, which I’ll strive to achieve.
Thanks also to the huge team behind the scenes who ensure everything runs smoothly for us, especially the counting agents in the polling stations who worked a very long day, and those at the final count who worked through the night to get the final results.
Grateful thanks to my running mates Tracey Carter and Malcolm Chandler who supported and encouraged me through the process.
