I have already had my second vaccination for COVID-19 at the Springfields Events Centre and would like to congratulate whoever organised the procedure there everything worked like clockwork and was carried out very efficiently.
All of my friends and acquaintances who have been vaccinated there have nothing but praise.
Unfortunately this praise does not extend to GPs, who most of my friends agree that their performance has been abysmal and they have a great deal to answer for.
To see a GP these days is as difficult to break into Fort Knox and if you telephone the surgery a wait of up to one hour can be expected, despite hearing on the BBC news and from the Minister of Health himself that the NHS is working normally and if anyone has any concerns they should contact their GP for action.
Perhaps Matt Hancock should try telephoning a South Holland GP.
A friend of mine (a lady in her early 80s) after trying for more than one hour to telephone her local surgery decided to drive round.
After explaining to the receptionist that she wanted to see a doctor was told to sit in her car on the car park and a doctor would call her.
This was despite seeing through the window an empty waiting room.
Last week I visited my dentist for a large filling which took about one hour.
During this procedure I could see spray rising up out of my mouth toward the dentist and his nurse.
If a dentist can do, this surely a GP can organise his waiting room to maintain social distancing and his surgery where both he and the patient could be masked and two metres apart.
