LETTERS – Get behind Spalding United

I would like to ask everyone to get on board with Spalding United now.
They are doing so well and need your support in the next few weeks, support them now, it will give them the encouragement they so deserve.
On Wednesday, April 17 Spalding United are travelling to the LNER Community Stadium in Lincoln to participate in the Lincolnshire Senior Cup final against Scunthorpe United.
In just a couple of years, the new ownership have transformed our local football club into a team that competes for trophies and at the time of writing, is currently top of the Northern Premier League Midland Division.
Please get yourself up to Lincoln on Wednesday night and cheer on the team in the hope of bringing back the County Cup to Spalding.
We would all love to see a big travelling support and that includes my fellow elected members!
Coun Gary Taylor and myself have committed to attending and hope more will travel to Lincoln to make sure they have the support they deserve that Wednesday evening.
A successful football team is great for our local economy, the benefits will only increase the higher up the leagues they go and when getting through to the advanced stages of various competitions, we will see the benefit in Spalding town.
I am backing the Tulips and now asking you to do the same.

Coun Jan Whitbourn
Vice Chair
South Holland District Council
