LETTERS – Fancy joining the Ramblers?

One of the few good things that has come out of the coronavirus pandemic is that many more people than before are discovering the great outdoors.

On my daily walk I come across many others who obviously appreciate that walking is good for both their physical and mental health.

Now that we are beginning to emerge from lockdown we may wish to walk further afield and discover new places whilst mixing – socially distanced – with like minded people.

Perhaps this is the time to consider joining the Ramblers.

Spalding has a thriving Ramblers group which attracts members from all over the South Holland district.

The group is affiliated to the national Ramblers Association who frequently update advice and information on restarting organised group walks.

Simply enter ‘Spalding Ramblers’ into your search engine to find out about rambles led by experienced walk leaders between now and the end of the year.

There is information on this site with details of who to contact for each walk, and how to conform to COVID-19 regulations.

After walking on three occasions you will be invited to join the Ramblers.

Membership entitles you to walk with any group throughout the country as well as discounts on walking gear and an informative quarterly magazine amongst other benefits.

Useful information can also be found on the Spalding Ramblers FaceBook page.

We look forward to welcoming you to this friendly group on one of our walks.
