LETTERS – Disgusted with the situation

Following the unwanted Persimmon and Ashwood developments on the old High Road in Weston village we are now faced with heavy loaded construction traffic delivering and removing materials to the sites.

This is in reality only a B rated road for local car type vehicles.

When the bypass was constructed it was designed and intended for heavy vehicles traffic to eliminate high and heavy use through the village. It seems this has now been overlooked?

When this application went to planning there was no condition put in place to eliminate this practice and put in place access from the A151 bypass.

We are now seeing and going to see the road broken and deteriorate, noisier, more traffic and dirtier due to the thoughtless response by some councillors and the planning committee.

This will now affect our lives and our quiet village for the next two to three years because no consideration was given to the existing residents and property owners in the area.

I live along High Road, as does my daughter, and we are disgusted with this situation.
