LETTERS – Delighted to take part in parade

We were delighted to take part in this year’s Spalding Flower Parade because it gave us a chance to showcase our culture, but also to talk with the wider community, introduce ourselves and connect with people who might not have known that we are here.

Our members, which include people from all professions, who took part in the parade are very grateful for the warm reception they received, and enjoyed making many new friends, including accountants, nurses, teachers, etc.

They loved the atmosphere, all the other themed floats, all the vivid characters and colours.

Our members were so happy to showcase the many cultures of Nigeria, and took the opportunity wear the beautiful African clothing for which Nigeria is justifiably famous, and of course, being Nigerian, they turned it into a picnic and party. After all, we wouldn’t be Nigerians if there was no food or music!

All ages took part, and we would like to thank Spalding for being so gracious, especially to our children, who had a wonderful time at Spalding’s annual bash.

You really made us feel like Spaldonians!.
