LETTERS – Could not be more wrong

G Kent could not be more wrong about the vast number of illegal immigrants invading our shores.

The very make up of these contingents makes my point.

Virtually all are fit young men of military age. If they were genuine asylum seekers, they would be bringing their wives, children and families with them to avoid the horrors they claim to be seeking asylum from.

In the past Jewish families were rightly given asylum here and more recently Hungarian families escaping the terror of the Russian invasion in 1957 were treated the same.

The present lot are just chancers who have learnt how to deal with the appalling inefficiencies of Home Office officials and this and previous governments.
