I have no deep political affiliations and do not wish to score any party political points, but I was astounded to read the May 2 front page article about the income generated by our MP.
Surely he has no need to receive over £100,000 income on top of his £77,000 public income.
If there is a need to cover his time costs then this could be done much more cost effectively than paying him £100,000, he could simply volunteer.
If we were offered amounts similar to those accepted by him we would no doubt be advised to be careful that the offers were too good to be true.
I cannot understand what he can offer to these organisations that justifies this level of income and I would caution him to stop and consider what his local voters will feel about these decisions in these times of austerity.
