Can I through your paper congratulate Coun Jan Whitbourn on her incredible efforts to coordinate the local Remembrance activities and drum up support for our veterans locally throughout the year?
Without any need for kudos or fanfare, “Just Jan” does so much for the community and Spalding is certainly a better place thanks to all her efforts.
A huge thank you to everyone who works with and supports her to make the town a better place, this requires a huge team effort and actually rolling up your sleeves.
I have known Jan now for almost 20 years, and worked with her and other great community minded people at Tulip Radio for nine years on and off.
Throughout this entire period that I have known her, Jan has given her time freely and worked tirelessly for the community – producing many of her initiatives such as the fantastic Pride of South Holland Awards for many years as a volunteer/private resident.
Some people just give so much to our community without expecting anything in return and Jan is one of these rare, selfless individuals.
