LETTERS – Comments were nasty and bitter

I was disappointed over the weekend to read on Facebook about Coun Jack McLean being stripped of all his council responsibilities.

He didn’t explain the reasons why, but it seems that he has done nothing wrong.

I am impressed with how he works to improve Spalding and the community.

Many other people seem to agree, as there were lots of supportive comments on his Facebook post, but I was very surprised and disappointed to read the nasty and bitter comments which Coun Angela Newton made towards him.

This was terrible timing and they were not nice comments.

A few weeks ago Angela wrote in a leaflet about COVID-19 the only thing we should spread is kindness.

She is clearly not talking her own advice, as Coun Newton as an independent councillor is no different to the bad tempered national politicians.

She says one thing, but does another.

These were not nice comments Angela, I would have expected better from you.
