LETTERS – Bins and park not our responsibility

I read in The Voice on July 23 re: Anfield Road dog bins and play area not being maintained.

South Holland District Council stated that it is either the parish council or the developer’s responsibility, SHDC said that is was nothing to do with them.

It is nothing to do with the parish council.

SHDC approve all planning applications.

SHDC enter into management agreements with the developers and surely this is the responsibility of SHDC to see that this is followed through.

We have had residents from both John Swains Way and Anfield Road contact us since the article asking what we are doing about it.

Can SHDC please let us all know, through your newspaper, who is responsible as they clearly should know as they set out the management agreement in the first place with the developers.

Long Sutton Parish Council is only responsible for the parks, cemetery, closed church yard and allotments.

John Clarey
Chairman of Long Sutton Parish Council
