LETTERS – Badges are not just for the elderly

I was most upset on Saturday, January 18 when my granddaughter came home in tears.
A lady, if that’s what I can call her, challenged her partner about parking in a disabled spot as he was packing the shopping.
He told her that she had a disabled badge in the window, she refused to look and said that the badges were for old people only.
I think it should be explained that children are born with disabilities, as well as adults, and medical reports went in for my granddaughter to be able to receive a badge.
How upsetting to be treated like this when she was born disabled, not just got a badge because she’s old.
If she had her choice she would like to be healthy like others of her age.
I think this is shameful behaviour and this lady should look up the rules about a badge before she goes upsetting someone else and making them feel like a second class citizen.
What a nasty person.
