LETTERS – Ann works hard to help others

I am the husband of Ann Gregory, of Boston Road South, Holbeach, we have been married for 48 years.

I would very much like to point out that she has worked tirelessly for three years raising very much- needed funds for our local Jerry Green dog rescue; £22,958.58 exactly. to date.

It’s a cause very dear to her heart with my blessing and this has taken her 3 years of very hard work. I see her washing items, cleaning things before putting them out, pricing up and sorting out bags and boxes until evenings.

So what went wrong after three years?

Ann has even sold items for the person we understand is responsible for reporting her. She gave the whole amount of money raised, without a penny being given to her for her charity because they are elderly.

Ann took their family to visit while an in-patient at Lincoln hospital. Not taking a penny for petrol during COVID.

My wife also helps out other charities like Lincs Ark, takes books to Butters at Low Fulney for their charity; puts clothing and items in the school bin nearby for their funds. This is but a few things as she has a kind, genuine heart.

Ann is also my main carer and main stay, from showering me, helping me to dress, doing buttons up and making sure that I am clean and tidy.

My clothes are always laundered and ironed, meals cooked.

She drives me around and takes me on holiday. Amazing or what?

But this has broken her heart and she will find it difficult to carry on as she always got pleasure from what she does.

Especially handing money over.

She is now being verbally abused each day that she opens. It is VERY wearing.

I am so appalled and disappointed about the whole situation.
