LETTERS – Agree with pylons comments

I agree completely with John Tippler’s comments re pylons in last week’s
The Voice.
Especially informative was his explanation of how voltage versus current works to transfer the same amount of power. I did not know this.
This country has used pylons for almost 100 years.
It must be a tried and tested method by now.
Laying underground cables would be costly and disruptive, with many roads having to be dug up. Even more roadworks!
So I echo his recommendation that the councils need experts to advise, not NIMBYs.
