LETTERS – AED at school gates

I was contacted by the Vice Chairman of Spalding United Youth Football Club, Andrew Slayven.

Andrew asked if we could assist with funding the purchase and installation of an AED (Defibrillator Unit) at West Pinchbeck, and with the permission of the Head Teacher, James Shawley, it was agreed a unit could be located at the front gates of St Bartholomew’s School.

I’d like to thank Andrew for making the funding request, and to James for allowing the unit to be installed and accessible at the school.

Elizabeth Sneath, Sally Slade and I were delighted to provide funding for such an important life-saving device. The AED will be installed in early April, and is the first to be installed in West Pinchbeck.

We were able to fund the full cost of the unit from our Designated Councillor Budgets. These budgets are designed to fund specific projects and activities that directly and instantly benefit local communities.

We have been able to fund many beneficial projects during the last four years, not only in West Pinchbeck, but in Pinchbeck and Surfleet too.
