LETTER: Will we see a reduction in council services?

South Holland District Council will have £1million less to spend in 2015-16 on services for the benefit of South Holland’s residents as a result of the cut in the grant from central Government.

Coun Gary Porter has stated (The Voice, December 30) that the cut will not be passed on to the residents of South Holland.

If the council has £1million less, and council tax bills are to be reduced, then surely it will be inevitable that South Holland’s residents will feel the consequences of the Government’s action in other ways?

It will be interesting to hear just how we will be affected – will there be, for example, reductions in the services we receive from the council and/or increases in the council’s fees and charges for some services?
