LETTER: Why is it taking so long to sort out traffic?

What’s taking so long? I have suggested this in previous letters about replacing traffic lights with mini roundabouts months ago.

As traffic lights are a direct order to stop or go and the timing of them is also not suitable, roundabouts let the driver choose and they tend to be way more courteous, even when traffic is heavy.

I would also look at putting in two more mini roundabouts – one from Park Road onto Pinchbeck Road and the other at the top of Woolram Wygate onto Pinchbeck Road.

Keep the lights from West Elloe Avenue to Pinchbeck Road but add a filter light from Pinchbeck Road into West Elloe Avenue as traffic sits there blocking entry out of Park Road when there is no need for it to be.

I once again have bought this up in previous letters. Stopping traffic turn right from Kings Road was put in place years ago to stop boy racers racing around the block from the bus stop. There are way more of them now especially at night. If you did this you would need to close Swan Street up to or past Kwik Fit to stop the boy racers driving around the block especially at night as sound carries.

As for one way traffic in St Thomas’s Road, try the roundabout first and see how that goes.
