LETTER: We’d have a clean, tidy town

I don’t know if anyone has seen the news re Belgium fining citizens for failing to deal with weeds and rubbish on the footpaths etc outside their houses and businesses.

I’m not suggesting fines – but wouldn’t it be lovely if everyone took responsibility for the few feet outside their properties. We’d have a clean, tidy, attractive town!

And before anyone responds with “some people are unable to” – yes, of course, but our overworked council workers would then be able to clean up for those people, instead of trying to deal with the whole area.
