LETTER: We go to Boston pool

I used to go to Spalding Swimming Pool regularly to teach a friend, of 60 years old, to swim after she retired.

I am 72, but the water was so cold standing helping her and she used to get cold after too short a time, plus the changing rooms had mouldy ceilings and were not pleasant places to be either, so after the first summer we stopped going there.

I think that’s really sad as she so wanted to learn after all those years but it was not a nice place to learn and spend time.

I started going all the way to a pool in Boston that is a really lovely place to relax and exercise that is warm and looks invitingly bright too.
