LETTER: Thanks for supporting Home-Start in 2014

I would like to acknowledge the support Home-Start South Holland has received during 2015 from the community.

As a family support organisation that is reliant upon volunteers, I would like to thank our volunteers who offer direct support to local families and our trustees and advisors who work tirelessly behind the scenes.

It is so reassuring that there is so much goodwill from people who give their time and much more.

I would like particularly to mention the support of two local businesses that collected Christmas gifts last month from their workforce for local families; this was co-ordinated by the local office of the Council for Voluntary Services.

I would like to pass on my gratitude to QV Foods and Bakkavor, Spalding for this and also BT Openreach who donated shoeboxes filled with goodies for children.

Earlier in the year, the Co-op Travel team based in the Beales Store, Spalding donated Easter eggs.

These additional acts of generosity make a difference to families who are facing challenges in their own lives and more importantly gives a sense of them feeling valued by others, when often confronted with discrimination and mis-judged.

As an organisation, we are facing many challenges and are working to raise our awareness within the local community to enable us to build on the support we offer to families in South Holland.

To find out more about the organisation, please contact me on 01406 701720.
