LETTER: Thanks for organising Christmas party

I would like to express my grateful thanks to the members of Saracen’s Head Over 60s Committee for the most excellent Christmas party held at the village hall on Saturday, November 29.

The party started with an excellent three course Christmas dinner served by the members of the committee followed entertainment from Five o’clock Somewhere and Robert London which was enjoyed by some 70 senior citizens of the village community.

This event is held annually and is free to those attending.

This wonderful event is funded by the tireless efforts of June Taylor, Lorraine Clark, Lesley Barnes, Malcolm Kent and Garry Smith who spend a goodly portion of their time fundraising throughout the year to bring joy to the lives of so many.

It is the true spirit of Christmas and of village life, valued by so many, particularly in the age in which we now live.

The community owe a big thank you to this committee for keeping up tradition in these time and for the excellent work they do.

My very heartfelt thanks for your hard work and consideration to us “over 60s” in Saracen’s Head.

Malcolm Chandler
Saracen’s Head
