I would like to thank everyone who took part in Pride of South Holland Awards this year. Without your involvement we simply couldn’t have done it without you doing your great work in the community this event would never take place.
Firstly a huge thank you to all of our sponsors, without whom, none of this would have been possible. A massive thank you to Coun Harry Drury, Terry Moore and his team from Bakkavor, Paul Watkins-Grove EMG, Andy Molsom, Molsom Optometrist, Simon Stone from Springfields Outlet Shopping & Festival Gardens, Julia Cole from Calthrops Solicitors, Graham Boor of Hughes, Mark Jepp of Majestic Bingo and Coun Angela Newton, your support made this whole awards ceremony possible.
To all those wonderful people who came on the day after being shortlisted, thank you for making this event so special, you may not have won anything, but your role made you all winners.
Thanks again to Butters and Flowers ‘N Things for providing floral displays, South Holland District Council, Dance Factor and Pinchbeck Tappers for their great performances on the day, Caterwell East Anglia Catering Contractors for providing refreshments and finally, The South Holland Centre.
Without winners there wouldn’t be an awards ceremony – this year we had excellent winners in every single sense of the word.
A massive thank you to Sue Griggs, winning Caring Neighbour, Sharon Brinkman winning Service with a Smile, Liberty Studd winning Young Achiever, Brenda Wickham winner of the Senior Citizen Award, Harold Payne winning Charity Worker, Brenda Wickham winning Community Hero, Ross Dean winning Volunteer of the Year and Bryan Robinson winning Special Achievement – your success will inspire us for another year.
Without our entrants for the canvasses celebrating the Queen’s birthday and bringing in our heritage of tulips for the Spalding In Bloom competition this year, it would not have been so colourful, thank you to you all for creating some wonderful pieces of art.
There can only be one winner but everyone showed us that we have a lot to be proud of within our community. So a huge well done and thank you for your hard work and massive congratulations to the winners, St John The Baptist Church and Emma from Daisies in The Crescent.
Your canvasses were truly excellent and captured everything and I hope will do Spalding proud when the Queen gets them.
All the canvasses were amazing and a truly difficult job for MP John Hayes and Susan to judge.
As last year, they had a difficult time judging for the best ones and as always John wanted to give everyone a prize. We all said how proud we were to see the amazing work that had been put into the canvasses and hope you are all very proud of what you achieved.
The montage of the canvasses and the colourful projection of the presentation was amazing, thank you to Andy, Popcorn Media.
A big thank you to the Tulip Radio team, without their ongoing dedication and the late nights, this job would have been a lot harder, so well done to Callum, Josh, Luke and George – your efforts are truly appreciated.
Coronation Street star Andy Whyment (Kirk Sutherland) deserves a special mention for presenting the entire show in an epic style which was befitting of all our winners and participants.
It’s been a pleasure working with you all, I look forward to next year when we all get to do it again!
