LETTER: Thanks for helping with Home-Start

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people over the last ten years who have been involved with Home-Start South Holland; from the initial steering group to the current board of trustees who have the unenviable task of closing the charity down. I feel really privileged to have been appointed to set-up the family support charity in 2008 and being part of this amazing organisation.

During my seven years I have met so many wonderful people who have played integral parts in the success of the organisation.

The trustees, the home-visiting volunteers and other volunteers who have given their time to make a difference to local families. What a truly remarkable group of people. There are too many to name, but thank you.

Also, we have had many supporters within the community who have supported us whether financially; to raise awareness or in other ways. Every element benefiting families.

I would also like to thank all the families who have allowed us into their lives to support them. We know we make a difference and often hear years later how families have continued their journeys in fulfilling their aspirations.

The good news is that it is business as usual and Home-Start will still be there for families in South Holland through the newly merged organisation, Home-Start Lincolnshire (01507 308030).

As I embark on new pastures, I wish them every success in sustaining a much needed service to families in Lincolnshire.

Mary Hutson
ex-senior co-ordinator
