LETTER: Thanks for helping us donate £4000

Following a successful Two Lips charity ball held in May by Spalding and Welland Rotary Club, a total of £4,000 has been donated to Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, LIVES, Friends of Johnson Hospital and our own Rotary charity.

This is money raised from local people for local deserving causes. We wish to thank all our supporters and sponsors for their generous help.

In addition, further worthy causes have received £4,500 from our charity funds during our year to June 2016.

Each year we also give service to the community by organising a variety show for Age Concern for 300 pensioners at the Civic Centre.

We support secondary school competitors in the Rotary Young Chef Competition.

We organise a sports day for members of Gateway Clubs in Spalding, Boston and Bourne and this year included members of PHAB and the Can-Do club.

This took place at the Castle Sports field in July.

We sent a candidate to the Calvert Trust in Keswick on the Rotary District Calvert Trust project – an adventure holiday for someone with special needs, and sent a candidate to the Rotary Youth Leadership Course run at Grafham

Water each year – a course that enhances leadership skills so valuable in the modern world. We also run mock interviews for senior sixth formers.

All these activities continue to provide a service to the community since 1937 under our Rotary motto “Service above Self”.

New members are always welcome at our twice monthly meetings at the Woodlands Hotel, Spalding. Please contact 01775 723507 for further details.
